Julia Wolf wanted to promote “In My Room” without filming herself. She turned an Alice Cullen fan take into an eight-slide TikTok Photo Mode post, with the track in the sound line. The carousel logged millions of TikTok plays; the song later reached tens of millions of Spotify streams. The public evidence shows both outcomes, though it cannot attribute the streams to this post.
The artist and the release
Julia Wolf (born Julia Capello) is a Long Island–raised singer who moved from earlier alt-pop (Girls in Purgatory, 2021; Good Thing We Stayed, 2023) into a grungier alt-rock lane. In My Room came out on 2024-03-22. Her album Pressure followed on 2025-05-23 via AWAL.
Most TikTok song-promo advice assumes the artist will get on camera. Wolf didn’t want that.
“The reason why I even started posting ‘In My Room’ with Twilight is because I didn’t want to be on video… and this was something I loved, and I wanted a clear visual for people to just understand right away.”
— Julia Wolf, Rolling Stone, 2026-09-09
She told Audacy the same thing a few weeks earlier: she was self-conscious promoting herself on video and needed another outlet. Her manager, Tanner Barry (NU.WORLD), told Billboard she is “the most Twilight-obsessed person I’ve ever met,” and that once the Twilight posts started working, the team kept playing into it.
So the creative brief, in her own words: no on-camera performance required, a franchise people already recognize, and the song as the soundtrack underneath.
Who posted, and from which account
The posts in this piece are from Wolf’s verified TikTok @juliawolfnyc—artist-owned Photo Mode, not a fan page and not a separate promo account. A Photo Mode post lives at a /photo/ URL: still images the viewer swipes (or lets auto-advance) while a sound plays. That is different from the fan-made Twilight video edits that also circulate under the song.
The post: Alice Cullen, eight slides

Caption: Twilight / Alice Cullen hashtags only—no “new music,” no release pitch.
Sound line: In My Room – Julia Wolf (confirmed again in an Apify scrape on 2026-10-07).
Selected slides (overlays from a 2026-10-06 capture):
- “lethal face card no one talks about enough” — Alice Cullen still + a fan opinion people will argue with. The song is not named on the slide.
- “like????” — shorter reaction; keeps the swipe going.
- “gorgeous.” — text keeps shrinking; it reads like a friend flipping through a camera roll.
4–7. More Alice stills in the same reaction register (middle of the pack).
- “stunning” — one-word close that finishes the claim slide 1 opened.

The first slide gives Twilight fans an opinion to react to. The shorter reactions and successive Alice stills invite another swipe; In My Room plays underneath and appears in the sound line. The post gives viewers a route to the track, though it cannot show how many took it.
What happened on TikTok (dated)
Alice Cullen pack — TikTok metrics captured 2026-10-07 (~08:02 ET):
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Plays | ~16.9M |
| Likes | ~1.9M |
| Saves | 136,697 |
| Comments | 4,486 |
| Shares | 59,100 |
| Format | Slideshow (8 images) |
| Sound | In My Room – Julia Wolf |
Same post, live TikTok web UI on 2026-10-06: ~1.9M likes, ~4.4K comments, ~136.6K saves, ~59K shares; the web UI did not show a view count that day. Billboard Chartbreaker (2025-11-11) put the Alice post at >12M views as of that article. Treat those as dated snapshots from different tools—not one flattened number.
Related format: the Bella Swan pack (with one sound caveat)
Thirteen days earlier, on 2025-01-02, Wolf posted the same visual template with Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan: photo/7455372832659295519. Same “lethal face card…” hook; middle slides escalate (“hello???” → “HELLO????”); last slide lands on “sigh.”
TikTok metrics captured 2026-10-07: ~8.4M plays, ~1.2M likes, 64,014 saves, 3,927 comments, 26.4K shares.
Sound note: our 2026-10-06 and 2026-10-07 captures label the audio as original sound (music ID 7349746879468800810, author “Jean”), not In My Room. Press coverage groups the Twilight collages with the In My Room push; for this specific post we report the sound line the UI showed and do not reassign it.

What happened with the music
The FADER reported more than 41 million Spotify streams for In My Room on 2025-09-09. In a 2025-11-11 profile, Billboard reported that the song had spent 17 weeks on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, peaking at No. 27, and had reached No. 21 on Hot Alternative Songs. These figures show the song’s wider reach. They do not measure how many listeners came from the Alice carousel; radio, playlists, other TikToks and the broader release campaign also contributed.
What we can reasonably learn
- Artist-owned Photo Mode can carry a full song attach without the artist on camera—Wolf said that was the point.
- The first slide gives fans a reason to swipe: a specific Twilight opinion up front, with the song in the sound line.
- The format is reusable across characters (Alice then Bella, 13 days apart)—as a creative template. Two posts do not prove the same reach will repeat.
- Date every metric and keep lanes separate: TikTok engagement ≠ streams ≠ chart peaks ≠ label deals. The Alice pack’s results sit near the AWAL / Pressure chronology; adjacency is not causation.
- Read the sound line. The Bella twin is the reminder: same visual grammar does not automatically mean the same library sound.
Coda: the vinyl anniversary post (second story)
Months later, Wolf used Photo Mode for a different job: a 2026-05-20 Pressure one-year vinyl announcement (photo/7641993974789590302)—15 slides, selfie on slide 1, product graphic on slide 3, retail partners (Hot Topic, Urban Outfitters, Graffiti Records, Rough Trade) in the caption, In My Room (soft and hard) on the sound. Live UI on 2026-10-06: ~11.3K likes / 576 saves.

That shows Photo Mode carrying an offer to an existing audience. It does not show vinyl sales from the post. It is a second use of the format, aimed at an existing audience.

Frequently asked questions
Did the Alice Cullen post cause In My Room’s streams or chart peaks?
No source in this piece measures stream conversion from that post. We report dated TikTok engagement and separately sourced chart / press streaming context.
Is this a burner or fan-page story?
No. These are posts on Wolf’s verified @juliawolfnyc account—artist-owned Photo Mode.
Why mention the Bella Swan post if its sound isn’t labeled In My Room?
It shows the same visual template reused 13 days earlier. The original-sound label is reported once, beside that post, so readers don’t assume every Twilight collage auto-maps to the song’s library sound.
What is Photo Mode here?
TikTok’s swipeable still-image format at a /photo/ URL, with a sound playing underneath—distinct from video edits of the same franchise.
